Transportation from Cancún Airport to downtown Cancún
The airport is located less than 18 km from the city of Cancún. Playa del Carmen is 55 km away. There are several options for transport to the city centre or to your hotel.

Buses to Cancun, Playa del Carmen and other locations
The well-known holiday destinations around the airport can be reached by ADO's shuttle bus service, which operates from terminals 2, 3 and 4. Tickets can be purchased online at the ADO website.

Taxi
The most convenient transport is a taxi, which you can use on the spot or book via Gettransfer. The big advantage is that the ride can be booked online and you know the price in advance. Prices on this route start at just EUR 16. The drivers are usually nicer than in traditional taxis and can provide you with a child seat on request, for example. If you forget something in the car, the driver can be traced back and contacted.
Airport shuttle to hotel (recommended)
If you don't want to rent a car, consider an airport shuttle. Prices start at EUR 8 and a bus will take you from the airport directly to your hotel (and back at the end of your stay). The price is a bit higher than taking public transportation, but it's much more convenient.
