Transport from Lisbon Airport to Lisbon city centre
The centre of Lisbon is located about 7 km from the airport, making transport really easy. All services run from Terminal 1. If you need to get to/from Terminal 2, you have to use the free shuttle bus (runs at 10 minute intervals).

Metro
The fastest transport to the city centre is the metro. You can buy a ticket from a ticket machine or by the entrance to metro for €1.5/trip, or €6.3/full day. To this amount you must add EUR 0.5 for the card on which the tickets are loaded. The centre of Lisbon can be reached in 20 minutes by direct bus. A map of the Lisbon Metro can be found here.
Bus
Alternative transport to the city centre is provided by the 744 and 783 public transport buses. The journey takes about 40 minutes and if you buy a ticket from a ticket machine, you pay EUR 1,50. Ticket machines can be found in the metro station. You can search for timetables here.
Airport shuttle to hotel
If you don't want to rent a car, consider an airport shuttle. Prices start at EUR 8 and a bus will take you from the airport directly to your hotel (and back at the end of your stay). The price is a bit higher than taking public transportation, but it's more convinient.

Taxi
The most convenient way is to use the services of Gettransfer. You can book your ride online and know the price in advance. Rides from the airport to the city centre start at €8. Drivers tend to be nicer than traditional taxis and will provide a child seat on request, for example. If you forget something in the car, the driver can be traced and contacted. Alternatively, you can use Uber.
Car rental

Transport at night
There is no metro at night, but you can use the bus line 208 (schedule and stops can be found here). Alternatively, you can book a taxi via Gettransfer or order an Uber.
