Grab

Grab is a Singapore-based multinational taxi company. It was founded in 2012 in Kuala Lumpur under the name MyTeksi. A year later, it was renamed GrabTaxi, and relocated to Singapore in 2014. Nowadays, it is known simply as Grab.

Grab mainly specialises in passenger transportation in Southeast Asia, serving more than 500 cities. For a list of all locations, where Grab's services can be used, please see here.

Passenger transportation is provided by personal cars or scooters. In addition to passenger transportation, Grab also operates a food delivery service.

Ride booking is very easy. We recommend downloading the mobile app, which is free for both Android and iOS.

Simply enter where from and where to you want to go, and it will show you which driver is available and the price of the ride, then you confirm the booking with a single click. A booking fee (from 50 cents) is required. You can pay by card in advance or in cash after your ride.

You can choose a classic GRABTAXI for 5 people or a TAXI-7-SEATER for 7 people.

The price for the services that Grab offers is very low. In case of ordering, it is necessary to take into account the booking fee:

• GRABTAXI (up to 5 people) - a fee of EUR 0.5-1
• TAXI-7-SEATER (up to 7 persons) - a fee of EUR 4

The price for 1 km (0.62 miles) travelled is less than one euro:

• 22 cents per 400 metres travelled (for distances up to 10 km)
• 22 cents per 350 metres travelled (for distances over 10 km)

A great advantage is that you can see the total price of the ride before ordering the car.

If you want the price to be even lower, you can use the GrabShare service. This is transport of several people going to different places in one vehicle. If you're going similar direction, you can travel with strangers and share the cost.

The downside is that prices are dependent on current demand - the higher the demand, the higher the price.

All drivers are licensed and trained. Grab tries to make sure the customer doesn't wait too long for a driver. If you choose a scooter for transportation, the driver will bring a helmet.

Unfortunately, the company doesn't have a published phone contact anywhere, but you can find a Call option in the app under the Help Center tab. This way you can solve everything you need by phone (in English).
