Uber is an American multinational company focused on the transportation of people by private car. The company is headquartered in San Francisco.

The company was founded in 2009, when two entrepreneurs developed a smartphone app that made it possible to book a ride with a single click. The first passenger was not transported by Uber until 2010 in San Francisco. A year later, the company began expanding abroad. In 2015, it expanded to food delivery, and two years later, it launched a freight service. Uber has nearly phased out traditional TAXI service drivers in recent years.

Vehicles in use

Uber drivers should only drive vehicles that are less than 10 years old. Vehicles should be kept clean and in good condition.

Ride booking is very easy. We recommend downloading the Uber mobile app, which is free for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

Simply enter where from and where to you want to go. You'll then be shown which driver is available, the price of the ride, and then you can confirm the ride with a single click. You can pay by card in advance or cash directly to the driver.

The biggest advantage Uber has to offer is its low price. The price per 1 km / 0.62 miles starts at 40 cents. The rides are operated by "ordinary people", not licensed taxi drivers, which is one of the main reasons why the fares are so low. Another great advantage is that you can find out the total price of the ride before you book the car.

Because almost anyone can drive Uber, you may pick up a substandard driver who may not know the city or have enough experience. The downside is that the driver is assigned automatically and you can't choose one. Each driver has a rating, and drivers with very poor ratings are removed from service after a certain period of time.

You can pay extra and use Uber Select or Uber Black, which have better quality cars and drivers.

Uber is ideal for short distances. For longer journeys, it is better to choose Liftago.

With Liftago you can easily choose a driver, whether by rating or likes. This option is not available with Uber, where the driver is automatically assigned to you.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of Uber is the price. Compared to Liftago, Uber is significantly cheaper.
