Air China one of the main airlines in China. It was established in 1988. It is part of the largest airline alliance - Star Alliance. Air China's main base is at the Beijing airport. Its logo features the mythical phoenix bird, which has been worshipped by the Chinese people since ancient times.

Check in online from the comfort of your home and save time at the airport. Online check-in is available on the <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://www.airchina.com.cn/en/service/check-in/index.shtml" target="_blank">Air China website</a>. Time limits for check-in depend on your destination, but in most cases, online check-in is available 36 hours - 3 hours before departure. Print the generated boarding pass and present it at the airport.
<h3>Check-in at the airport</h3>
Airport check-in is free for all passengers. Again, check-in counter opening hours may vary depending on your destination. In most cases, it opens 3 hours before departure. You can also check in using the self-service check-in kiosks available at selected airports.

<h3>Carry-on luggage</h3>
Carry-on luggage must not exceed the dimensions 55 × 40 × 20 cm (21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 inches) across all classes. Economy Class passengers may take one piece of luggage with the dimensions indicated and a maximum weight of 5 kg (11 lb). Business and First Class passengers can take two carry-on bags of the above dimensions and 8 kg / 17.5 lb.
All passengers can also bring one item on board free of charge, such as an umbrella, a book, or a small bag.
<h3>Checked luggage</h3>
Weight limits vary by travel class. The sum of the dimensions of your checked luggage must not exceed 203 cm / 80 inches.
<ul>
<li>In Economy Class, you can have 1 bag weighing 20 kg (44 lb) on domestic flights or 1 bag weighing 23 kg (50.7 lb) if you are flying internationally.</li>
<li>In Business Class, you are entitled to checked luggage weighing 30 kg (66 lb) on domestic flights. For international flights, you can have two pieces of luggage up to 23 kg (50.7 lb).</li>
<li>First Class allows one piece of luggage weighing 40 kg (88 lb) on domestic flights. If you are flying internationally, you are allowed to take two bags up to 32 kg (70.5 lb).</li>

Air China offers its passengers three classes of travel:
Economy Class - Economy Class passengers can enjoy in-flight refreshments for free.
Business Class - Business Class passengers can relax or work in spacious, comfortable reclining seats during the flight. The food selection in Business Class is more varied than in Economy Class.
First Class - First Class offers passengers reclining spacious seats that can be folded into a bed. It offers a wide selection of in-flight food and beverages and first-class service.
<h3>Traveling with children</h3>
We flew to Thailand with our 2-year-old daughter and I have to highly commend the attitude of the entire crew. We fly with our daughter often, but she has never received such attention :).

All passengers will receive free refreshments on board the aircraft. The quantity and choice vary according to the class of travel and length of the flight. You will receive snacks on short flights and hearty hot meals on longer flights. In Business and First Class, the offer is more varied than in Economy Class.
If you are flying with children or an infant, or have any dietary restrictions, contact the airline after purchasing your ticket to arrange a meal especially for you.

Air China offers its passengers free overnight connecting accommodation at Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai (Pudong Airport), Hangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Wenzhou, and Wuhan airports. This service includes one night's accommodation, transit between hotel and airport, and breakfast. This service must be requested in advance via the website or mobile app. Communication with the airline is sometimes a bit more complicated and it is a good idea to contact the company by email in addition to the form. We recommend printing the email response.

I've had good experience with this service. We flew from Vienna to Thailand via Beijing and wanted to combine this with a short city tour. So we filled out a form, but received no reply. We only got one after contacting the airline by email, which turned out to be the right move. After arriving in Beijing and visiting the Air China counter, no one knew about us and the printed email was quite helpful. Then all you had to do was wait with other passengers for the minibus to take you to your hotels and pick you up again at the agreed time. The hotel itself was of good quality and everyone's attitude was exemplary.
