American Airlines

Online check-in

Free online check-in can be done no earlier than 24 hours before departure time and no later than 90 minutes prior to departure time (45 minutes for domestic flights). You can print your boarding pass and then go straight to the security check at the airport, no need to go to the check-in counter. If you have a large bag to check-in, you'll need to go to the "Baggage drop-off" counter.

If you download the American Airlines mobile app on your smartphone, you'll have your boarding pass downloaded there. So there's no need to print anything. Just scan the QR code from the app at the airport.

Airport check-in

Airport check-in is free of charge. It usually starts 3 hours before departure and ends 60 minutes prior to departure. This time schedule may vary depending on the flight.
