Founded in 1920 under the name CFRNA, Tarom is Romania's national air carrier. It has been a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 1993 and a member of the SkyTeam Alliance since 2010. Passengers can choose from a large number of destinations and also earn miles. These miles can be redeemed for a wide range of benefits thanks to the bonus program. The company's headquarters are located at Bucharest International Airport.
The fleet currently consists of 29 aircraft that are used for both international and domestic flights. The airline operates its flights on Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-300, Airbus A318-111, ATR 42-500, ATR 72-500, Boeing 737-800 NG, Boeing 737-800 NG, and ATR 72-600.

<h3>Online check-in</h3>
Online check-in can be done from 30 hours to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://checkin.si.amadeus.net/static/PRD/RO/#/identification" target="_blank">via the carrier's website</a>. This service is not available for all routes - you can <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.tarom.ro/en/check-in" target="_blank">learn about exceptions here</a>. Due to immigration regulations, you are required to collect your boarding pass at the check-in counter for some flights. For other flights, you can keep your boarding pass on your mobile device.
<h3>Airport check-in</h3>
Airport check-in is free of charge and available between 2 hours and 45 minutes before departure. You can check in at the check-in desk or you can also use the self-service check-in kiosks.

<h3 style="text-align: left;">Hand luggage</h3>
You can take a small personal bag and one carry-on bag on board the aircraft. If you are flying on Boeing and Airbus aircraft, your hand luggage must not exceed 21.6 x 15.75 x 7.8 inches (55 x 40 x 20 cm). Passengers travelling on ATR 42 / ATR 72 aircraft may carry hand baggage with a maximum size of 13.8 x 11.8 x 7.8 inches (35 x 30 x 20 cm). Together, the weight of hand baggage must not exceed 22 pounds (10 kg).
<h3>Checked baggage</h3>
Checked baggage conditions may vary depending not only on the flight route, but also on the class purchased or the type of aircraft you are flying on. Generally, in Economy Class (without Frequent Flyer membership), you can bring one checked bag up to 50.7 pounds (23 kg). In Business Class (without Frequent Flyer membership), you can bring up to three checked bags, each up to a maximum weight of 50.7 pounds (23 kg).
