Bus
The cheapest option for transport to the city is a combination of bus and train.
Take the Airporter 380 bus to the Papatoetoe railway station. The bus runs from both terminals every 15 to 20 minutes. The journey time is approximately 20 minutes and a ticket can be purchased from the bus driver for NZD 3.50.
From Papatoetoe, you can then take the STH train to Britomart station, which is located in the centre of Auckland. Trains run from 5:30am to 10:30pm at intervals of 10 to 20 minutes. The journey time is 30 minutes and tickets cost NZD 7.50. If you have an AT HOP card, this journey costs only NZD 4.9.
AT HOP cards are sold at the Auckland i-SITE Visitor Information Centre desk in the international terminal. They cost NZD 10 and the minimum amount to top up is NZD 5. More information can be found here.

Taxi
The most convenient option is to use Gettransfer. You know the fare in advance and tickets can be booked online. Drivers tend to be nicer than in traditional taxis and, for example, a child seat can be provided on request.
