Transport summary

Bus to Barcelona

Bus line 46 provides the cheapest transport from El Prat Airport to Barcelona without transfers. Bus stops marked TMB bus Barcelona can be found directly outside both terminals and the journey time to the city centre (to Plaça d'Espanya) is approximately 45 minutes. The bus runs at intervals of about 15 minutes from 4:50 to 23:50. At night, you can take the N16 (T2), N17 (T1) or N18 (T1 and T2) lines, running at approximately 20 minute intervals.

Tickets

A single ticket costs €2.2 (you can buy it from a ticket machine or driver), but you can save significantly by buying one of the discounted tickets. You can buy a pack of 10 tickets from the vending machine at the entrance to the train station near Terminal 2. You can also buy tickets via the app.

Aerobus

Alternative bus service is the "Aerobus". However, it costs €5.9 (€10.2 return) and you have to buy a special ticket for it. Tickets can be purchased on the aerobusbarcelona.es website, where you can also find the schedule.</p

By train to Barcelona

The fastest service is the R2N train (schedule). A single ticket costs €4.6, but you can use all the tickets listed above for bus 46, including the Hola Card. The train runs at roughly half-hourly intervals and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes. The first service runs after 5am, the last before midnight.

Metre to Barcelona

You can also get to Barcelona by metro. The metro from the airport costs €5.15, but again you can take advantage of discounted time tickets. Metro line L9 runs from both terminals, but you need to change at Torrasa station to the red line L1 or at Collblanc station to the blue line L5. The metro journey to the centre (Pl. Catalunia station) takes approximately 45 minutes. You can buy your ticket from the ticket machine at the station.

Airport shuttle to the hotel

If you don't want to rent a car, consider an airport shuttle. Prices start at 200 CZK and a bus will take you from the airport directly to your hotel (and back at the end of your stay). The price is a bit higher than taking public transport, but you are assured of airport-hotel-airport transport without the hassle of changing buses.

Taxi

The most convenient option is to use the services of Gettransfer. The big advantage is that the ride can be booked online and you know the price in advance. The drivers tend to be nicer than in traditional taxis and can provide you with a child seat on request, for example. If you forget something in the car, the driver can be traced back and contacted.

Night transport

For transport at night you can use the night bus lines, Aerobus, or Gettransfer.
