Transport from Bologna Airport to the centre of Bologna
Bologna Airport lies less than 10 km from the city centre. You have several options for transport to the city centre or to your hotel.

Marconi Express train to Bologna
The Marconi Express train runs roughly every 7-15 minutes and takes you to the city centre to the Bologna Centrale stop in just 8 minutes. The first train leaves at 5:40 am, the last one at midnight (also on weekends and public holidays). The station at Bologna Airport is located east of the terminal and is accessible via the first floor (departures). More information, timetables and online ticketing can be found at marconiexpress.it.
Marconi Express tickets
Ticket prices are quite high so if you are travelling with 2 or more people, it is worth considering using Gettransfer. A taxi is much more convenient and with more people it is also cheaper. Here are the prices of train ticekts:
- One-way ticket costs EUR 8.70
- Return ticket costs EUR 16 (must be used within 30 days)
- Family ticket for two adults and up to three children aged 5 to 16 years, costs EUR 18 (return EUR 34)
- Children under 4 travel for free
- There is also a group fare available for EUR 7/person when more than 10 people are travelling, but this does not make much sense (taxis work out cheaper)
The train goes via Lazzaretto station to Bologna Centrale station. This is located 1.5 km north of the city centre. You can reach the centre by a 20-minute walk, taxi or public transport. This is operated in Bologna by TPER (Trasporto Passeggeri Emilia-Romagna). You can buy a 75-minute ticket at these places for €1.50, or from the bus driver (for an extra charge).
Cheapest public transport
The cheapest way to get to the centre is by public transport, but it's a bit lengthy. First you have to get to Birra stop, where you change to lines 81, 91 or 91A to get to the centre. You can get to Birra from the airport by taking the Bus 54, but it runs at hourly intervals, or by a 20-minute walk. You can buy a 75-minute ticket at these locations for €1.50, or from the bus driver (for an extra fee).

Taxi to Bologna
The most convenient transport is a taxi, which you can use locally or book via Gettransfer. This has the advantage of a lower price, better access, and can also provide a child seat. The price of a taxi should be around EUR 25-30.
Night transport
If you can't make either of the available connections, you can use Gettransfer or classic taxis for transport to the centre.
