Tours
If you choose one of the cheap tours to Sicily, a delegate will be waiting for you at the airport with arranged transport to your hotel.
Bus
The cheapest transport is the public transport bus line 524 (see timetable and route of the line), which does not stop directly at the terminal. It is necessary to walk to the stop Goretti Campo Nord that is located about 300 metres from the airport. The bus ride then takes about 30 minutes and costs €1. You can buy tickets at the airport newsagent, or more conveniently via the AMT app (Google Play / App Store). The 538 bus (see timetable and route) also runs from this stop, taking a different route and stopping at more stops. However, it takes longer to get to the city centre.
You can also take the blue ALIBUS, which stops right outside the terminal building. Tickets from the airport cost EUR 4 and can be purchased directly from the driver (card payment is also possible). The bus stops at several stops in the centre. For a list of all stops and timetables, please visit this link.
Train
An alternative way of transportation to the city centre is by train. The train station is located about 400 metres from the airport and takes you through the centre of Catania to the stops of Alcantara, Ali Terme, all the way to Messina. You can search for and book tickets on the Trenitalia website. The price of a train ticket from the airport to the centre is €1.9.
Car rental
The most flexible way to get to central Catania is by rental car. For a clear comparison of all offers, visit this link.
Airport shuttle to hotel
If you don't want to rent a car, consider an airport shuttle. Prices start at EUR 8 and the shuttle bus will take you from the airport directly to your hotel (and back at the end of your stay). The price is a bit higher than taking public transportation, but it's much more convenient.

Taxi
The most convenient transport is a taxi, which you can book on the spot or via Gettransfer. This has the advantage of a lower price, better access, and can also provide a child seat. The price of a taxi should be around €20.
