Transportation from Bali Airport to the Center of Denpasar
Bali Airport is located less than 13 km from the center of Denpasar city. However, if you wish to stay near the airport, we recommend the Kuta area. It is close to the airport, and you can visit the beach or one of the many bars there.

Bus
Public transport in Bali is very cheap but also unreliable, so patience is required. Bus services are provided by the company Trans Sarbagita. Minibuses known as "bemo" or "angkot" operate throughout Bali, including the airport. However, it often happens that foreigners are charged a higher price. Consider hotel-arranged transport or a taxi as alternatives.

Taxi
We recommend taxi transport. Be cautious of taxi mafias that exploit foreigners' unfamiliarity and offer overpriced rides. We always recommend using Blue Bird (light blue taxis) or Grab services. Blue Bird taxis have a good reputation, and unlike regular taxis, their drivers use meters. A fair taxi price is 7,000 IDR for the start and 6,500 IDR per kilometer. Before your trip, we recommend installing these apps (a SIM card with data can be purchased directly at the airport for approx. 11.1£ (12.5 EUR)).

An alternative could be airport transport with Gettransfer. A major advantage is that you can book the ride online and know the price in advance. Prices on this route start from 7.8£ (9 EUR).
Transport to Hotel
In Bali, there is also the Holidaytaxi service, which provides transport from the airport to the hotel. The bus picks up multiple passengers and then drops them off at hotels, making this transport slower than a regular taxi. The price is about half compared to a taxi, so it only makes sense if you are traveling alone. If traveling with 2 or more people, a taxi is more time and cost-effective.
By Car
If you want to explore the island and neither a motorcycle nor an expensive car rental with a driver suits you, we recommend renting a car at the airport, as it might be problematic in resorts.
