Transport from Lyon Airport to Lyon city centre
Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is located approximately 28 km from the centre of Lyon. If you need to get to the airport from the city centre or vice versa, there are several options to choose from.

Bus + tram
The cheapest way to get to the city centre is by taking the bus of line 47 (schedule), which runs from Terminal 1. This bus will take you to the final stop Meyzieu Zi, where you will change to tram number 3, which has its final stop in central Lyon. The journey time is ideally around an hour. The ticket price is €1.9 and the connection can be used until about 11pm. The bus does run after that, but you won't be able to catch the connecting tram.

Rhônexpress tram
A more convenient but more expensive option are the trains from the transport company Rhonexpress. Trains run roughly every 15 minutes and will take you to the main Lyon Part-Dieu train station in 29 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online via this link. The first tram from the city leaves at 4:25am from Lyon Part-Dieu, the last tram from the airport at midnight.
You can also consider buying a Lyon City pass, which gets you free transport around Lyon (including to/from the airport), a cruise on the Rhône and access to 23 museums.
Blablacar
Alternatively, you can try transportation using Blablacar.
Taxi
The most convenient option is to use Gettransfer. You know the fare in advance and tickets can be booked online. Drivers tend to be nicer than in traditional taxis and, for example, a child seat can be provided on request. The price per ride starts at EUR 40.

Night transport
The last time you can get from the airport is at about 11pm on the bus of line 47, and at midnight on the Rhonexpress tram. After that, the only option is to take a taxi or use the services of Gettransfer. Alternatively, you can stay overnight at the airport and start your journey the next day. In that case, we recommend Ibis hotel. It's right by the airport, offers free shuttle service and great reviews for a low price.
