Transportation from Luqa Malta Airport to Valletta city centre
The town of Valletta is approximately 7 km from the airport.
If you need to get to the airport from the city centre or vice versa, there are several options to choose from.

Bus Line X4
The cheapest option is the X4 express bus line (schedule here). You will find the bus stop directly in front of the airport concourse. The journey to the centre of Valletta takes about 25 minutes. A one-way ticket costs EUR 1.50 in low season and EUR 2 in summer. Tickets for night services cost EUR 3. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machine or directly from the driver. To search for connections, use this link. If you plan to travel more frequently by public transport, consider also purchasing the discounted "Explore" and "ExplorePlus meet" cards. The Explore card costs €21 (€15 for children) and gets you free transport for a week, a €3 discount to the Malta National Aquarium, 30 minutes bike hire and other benefits. The ExplorePlus meet costs €39 and includes ferry tickets.

Airport shuttle (recommended)
Alternativu offers a shuttle service with Holidataxis that will take you from the airport to your hotel. The price starts at €5.5 and takes about an hour. Compared to public transport, it also has the advantage that you book the connection in advance and get off/on directly at the hotel.
Taxi
The most convenient and fastest way is by taxi. These have fixed prices, which can be found here. You can compare the price with the offers of Gettransfer, where you know the price of the ride in advance, it's no problem to arrange a child seat or a car of your preference. The price should still be a little more affordable. Uber doesn't operate in Malta, but you can use Bolt, or eCabs.

Traffic at night
Bus routes offer services from approximately 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. If you can't make either of these, you can use Gettransfer, Holidaytaxis, taxi or Uber for transport to the city centre.
