Train
The fastest transport to the city is an automated train called the People Mover. The service is available from 6 am to 12 pm, the intervals are 5-8 minutes and the journey takes about 5 minutes. A single journey costs EUR 5 and a ticket can be bought from a machine at the airport. The train station is located approximately one kilometre south of the centre and can be reached by a comfortable walk or by taking a taxi. You can also easily take the train to nearby Florence or the beautiful Tuscan cities of Lucca and Siena.
Bus
The cheapest transport is the LAM bus, which takes you directly from the airport to the centre. The bus stop is located about 200 metres from the airport (map here). Tickets cost €1.5 and services run at 10-20 minute intervals from 5:15 am to 8:15 pm. A great tool is a connection finder which can be found under this link.
If you want to travel as close as possible to the Leaning Tower, go to Dei Miracoli stop, get on the E3 or E25 lines. Buses leave every 20 minutes and the journey takes a quarter of an hour. You can buy a ticket from the bus driver for €2.6.

Taxi
The most convenient transport is a taxi, which you can use on the spot or book via Gettransfer. This has the advantage of a lower price, better access, and can also provide a child seat. The price to the Leaning Tower will set you back €9, making it a very good alternative in a larger group.
