Transport from Vienna Airport to Vienna city centre

By train to/from Vienna city centre
The fastest and cheapest way to get to the centre of Vienna is by S-Bahn on the S7 line or other ÖBB trains to the Wien Mitte (direction Wien Floridsdorf Bahnhof) stop, located in the very centre of Vienna. Trains run at 15 to 20 minute intervals and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

By train to/from Wien Hauptbahnhof
From the airport, you can also take the train to Vienna Central Station "Wien Hauptbahnhof", where Regiojet services depart. The journey time in this case is 25 minutes.
Night transport
There is no train from the airport between 1:19 and 4:48. You can use the night VAL 1 bus for €8 (schedules and ticket purchase), but it doesn't run very often. Alternatively, you can use classic taxi or Uber services. More convenient may be Gettransfer, where carriers compete for offers and you can insert your own. Prices start at CZK 600.
Tickets
Tickets can be bought from a ticket machine or online at oebb.at.
A single ticket costs €4.3 and is valid for 120 minutes throughout Vienna - including tram, bus and metro. A group ticket for two people is also valid for 120 minutes, but only for S-Bahn trains.
Always be sure to mark the ticket before boarding.
City Airport Train (CAT)
The City Airport Train (CAT) may be the fastest service, but you won't save 10 minutes and the ticket will cost you €12.
Erdberg - Flixbus stop
Flixbus buses stop at Erdberg station. There is a direct Air Liner bus service from the airport that will take you to the Flixbus stop. This line runs once an hour and will set you back €6 (return ticket €11, timetable here). For cheaper transport, take the S7 train to the Landstrasse stop. From Landstrasse you can take the U3 metro or walk to Erdberg station. A ticket will cost you EUR 4.3.
What to do in case of a late arrival or early departure?
Vienna airport is very popular with Czech and Slovak travellers for its low ticket prices, but unfortunately it happens that the departure is early in the morning or at night. If you don't drive to the airport, this can be a problem. You can consider the following options.
- You can arrive in the evening and stay at the airport (it is open non-stop). Alternatively, wait for the morning service.
- stay close to a hotel, e.g. NH Vienna Airport Conference Center
- use the services of Gettransfer
Transportation from Vienna Airport to Prague
The Regiojet company offers several direct bus connections during the day to take you to the airport. Tickets start at CZK 650 and the journey time is 5 hours. You can also take advantage of Flixbus, where prices start at CZK 449.
From Prague you can get to central Vienna with Regiojet, which offers both train and bus connections. It takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes to get to central Vienna by train. Train tickets start at 399 CZK. By bus, the journey takes 4 hours and 40 minutes and tickets can be purchased from 299 CZK.
Another option is to use the Flixbus bus service. The journey from Prague to central Vienna takes approximately 4.5 hours and prices start at €13 (must be purchased in advance).
A direct train connection to central Vienna is also offered by Czech Railways from 360Kč.

Transportation from Vienna Airport to Brno
The direct connection between Vienna Airport and Brno is operated by Gepard Express. The service runs 6 times a day in both directions and a standard ticket will set you back 390 CZK. Tickets must be booked in advance. Another option is a direct connection with RegioJet, which also costs 390 CZK.
You can also take advantage of indirect connections, which run more frequently. The Flixbus and Regiojet will take you into the centre of Vienna. From there, you must continue to the airport by public transport.
Fees for a Flixbus ticket start at 149 Kč. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and the bus will take you to Erdberg Bus Station. Regiojet offers both train (from 219 CZK) and bus (199 CZK) connections that take you to Hauptbahnhof.

Transportation from Vienna Airport to Bratislava
The company Slovak Lines offers a direct bus connection from Bratislava Bus Station to Vienna Airport. The ticket price is EUR 7.90 and the journey takes 50 minutes.
Another option is to take advantage of Flixbus bus lines, which will take you to the airport for a price starting at EUR 4.89.
