Transportation from Zanzibar Airport to Zanzibar City
The airport is located less than 16 km from the city. You have several options for transport to the city centre or to your hotel.

Dala dala minibuses
The cheapest transport is public transport represented by the Dala Dala Microbuses. These are vehicles of different shapes and sizes, where the destination is always found on the nose of the bus. Always pay your ticket after boarding and beware of the various scams (helping with luggage and then demanding a reward, etc.). A ticket to Zanzibar town costs EUR 0.10, other locations up to EUR 0.70. In the case of large luggage, you may be asked to pay a small extra fee. This way of transport is recommended only for lovers of unconventional experiences.
Hotel transfer
The most convenient transport is a hotel taxi. It is often included in the price of accommodation and it is usually half the price of a regular taxi.

You can also choose a classic taxi, the price to the city should be about EUR 10.
