Online check-in

Online check-in is available from 24 hours to 30 minutes before scheduled departure for domestic flights. For international flights, it is from 24 hours to 90 minutes before departure. If you use the mobility assistance service during your flight, expect different check-in times. You can check in online here on the carrier's website, or via the Qantas mobile app (iOS, Android). The advantage of checking-in using the mobile app is that you have all the information and documents you need in one place, without the need to print them out.

Please pay attention to your flight, not all flights can be checked in this way.

Automatic check-in

Automatic check-in service is available for domestic flights within Australia. Passengers are sent a text message prior to departure prompting them to check-in.

Check-in at the airport

Check-in at Qantas varies greatly by departure airport, we recommend allowing extra time to check in or refer to the flight guide for your specific departure point. Check-in times also vary depending on the class of travel. You can't go wrong by following the airport check-in rule and arriving at the airport two hours before departure.

Here are some examples of how the check-in time may differ:

• The recommended check-in time for Qantas Airlines domestic flights is 45-30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
• Recommended check-in time for domestic flights departing from the Australian International Terminal is 60-45 min before scheduled departure time.
• Recommended check-in times for Qantas Airlines international flights are 120-90 minutes for Economy or Premium Economy, and 90-60 minutes prior to departure for Business and First Class.
