Eurowings is a low-cost airline that was founded in 1993 in Dusseldorf, Germany. It has bases at several other German airports: in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Hannover, Stuttgart, Salzburg, Munich and also in Vienna, Austria. They operate an extensive network of flights across Europe, but you can also get to America and Asia. Eurowings currently flies to 50 countries, serving over 200 destinations. A few years ago it merged with another German airline, Gemanwings. Currently, Eurowings is part of the German airline Lufthansa.
This airline uses mainly Airbus aircraft on its routes. They focus on the A319, A320 and A330.

You can choose the check-in method you prefer, but be aware that if you check in at the airport, you will have to pay a fee. So we definitely recommend online check-in.

Check-in online is always free. It is available from 72 hours prior to departure and you can check in either <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href=" https://affiliateport.scaletrk.com/click?o=1226&a=6695" target="_blank">via the website here</a> or on your mobile device (app can be downloaded from the <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/eurowings/id1063273316" target="_blank">App Store</a>, or Google Play for <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.germanwings.android&amp;hl=en&amp;gl=US" target="_blank">Android</a>). You can either print your ticket at home and bring it with you to the airport, print it at the airport self-service kiosk, or download it to your phone as a barcode (if you check in via the app, you can already find your ticket in the app).

Eurowings has established the following rules for the carriage of baggage:

Each passenger is allowed to take on board one piece of baggage (55 x 40 x 23 cm / 21,7 x 15,7 x 9 inches) with maximum weight of 8 kg (17,6 pounds) free of charge.
<h3>Free baggage</h3>
In the cheapest Basic fare, there is no checked baggage included. You may have 1 piece of luggage up to 23 kg (50,7 lb) in the Smart fare and 2 pieces of luggage up to 32 kg (70,5 lb) per piece in the BIZZ fare. If you need to add checked baggage, be sure to do it online, the price of 1 piece of baggage (23 kg) via the company's website starts at EUR 15 / USD 16 / GBP 13, at the airport you would pay EUR 40 / USD 43 / GBP 34 for the same thing.

When buying a ticket with Eurowings, you can choose from 3 different fares according to your needs and requirements.
Basic - In this fare you really only have the ticket and the  hand baggage included, other things can be purchased if necessary (snacks EUR 6, checked baggage EUR 15,...).
Smart - A much more generous fare, which includes 1 checked bag up to 23 kg (50,7 lb), seat selection, a second small carry-on bag in addition to your regular one. You collect points for the frequent flyer program and you can change your booking for free.
Bizz Class - 2 checked bags up to 32 kg (70,5 lb) per piece, access to airport lounges, more space and comfort on the plane, in-flight refreshments, 2nd carry-on bag free of charge, free changes and cancellations, priority check-in and boarding.

Because Eurowings is part of Lufthansa, they also have a joint frequent flyer program Miles &amp; More. The loyalty programme is baed on receiving a certain number of points for your booking, which you can then redeem either to buy another ticket, to buy a higher fare or to pay extra for certain products.

Check in online!
Make sure to buy your tickets at least 1-2 months in advance. A few weeks before departure, the price tends to increase.
Pack your hand luggage and travel low-cost. On the Basic fare, you really only get the essentials, i.e. your ticket and hand luggage included. And what more can you ask for when you want to save money.
Collect frequent flyer points. If you're a frequent flyer, you're sure to save money with the program.

Like most airlines, Eurowings divides child passengers into Infants 0-24 months and children 2-11 years.
Infant - There is a fixed fee for the youngest passengers if they travel on your lap: EUR 25 / USD 27 / GBP 21 on short and medium flights and EUR 75 / USD 81 / GBP 64 on long flights. If you want your own seat for your baby, you must bring a car seat. The baggage rules are the same as for adults, plus you are allowed to take a pushchair and car seat for your child free of charge.
Children - If you travel with children aged 2 to 11, you will pay 80% of the adult ticket price. Baggage policies are the same for this age group as for adults.

Food on board Eurowings is always charged when travelling in Basic or Smart Class. In this case, you have the option to buy your food on board. In the Wings bistro you will be offered light snacks or a full menu. Payment can be made by credit card only or contactless with Apple Pay or Google Pay, cash is not accepted. If you've purchased a Bizz fare, your meal is included in the ticket price and can be pre-selected online.

For most fares, food is charged on Eurowings flights.
Seat selection is for free if you check in yourself online in advance.
You can use the entertainment system for a fee (approx. EUR 3 / USD 3.3 / GBP 2.5), which is either available on the screens in the seat in front of you or in the airline's app on your smartphone.
You can also pay for an internet data pack to shorten your flight by working, for example.

Changes can be made until the end of the online check-in. On the Basic fare, reservations cannot be changed. On Smart and Bizz fares you can make unlimited changes, but you will always pay for a new ticket if it is more expensive than your original ticket.

The rules for cancelling tickets are similar to those for rebooking. On a Basic fare, you cannot cancel. If you don't use the flight, it will simply be forfeited. On Smart fare you can cancel your ticket for a fee. On Bizz you can cancel it at any time free of charge.

Reklamace

In case there is a problem during your flight that causes a multiple hour delay or if your flight is cancelled altogether, you may be entitled to compensation. You can find out if this is the case by <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href=" https://affiliateport.scaletrk.com/click?o=1226&a=6695" target="_blank">filling in your flight number and the departure date of your flight</a>.
If your flight has been cancelled, you can request a refund of the total amount of the ticket in your booking.

Did you know that Eurowings own 3 Airbus A320-200s with a different logo than their own? One has the Europa-park theme park logo, another bears the Hertz logo and the third is black and yellow in honour of Borussia Dortmund football club. So if you're a fan, maybe you'll be lucky enough to fly on this plane.
Eurowings have many bases, some of the less expected ones might include Pristina in Kosovo or Palma, the capital of the island of Mallorca.
