About SriLankan Airlines

SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka with its home airport Bandaranaike near Colombo. It was established in 1979 as Air Ceylon and has been operating under its current name since 1998. It is a member of the well-known Oneworld airline alliance. It boasts the largest number of destinations served and the largest fleet of any domestic airline. It flies to 51 countries, where it operates to a total of 113 airports.

SriLankan Airlines fly exclusively on Airbus, currently owning 24 of these aircraft, with a further eight A350s on order. For long-haul flights they use Airbus A330s, of which they have 11, and for shorter distances they use A320 / A321s.
