When travelling with SriLankan Airlines, baggage is subject to the following rules:

Carry-on baggage

The baggage you take on board may weigh a maximum of 7 kg (15,4 lb) and the sum of all dimensions must not exceed 115 cm (45,3 inches). If you are travelling in Economy Class, you can have one bag free of charge. In case of Business class, you can have two pieces of hand luggage. Notwithstanding you can carry a small personal item such as a laptop or handbag.

Children can have one piece of luggage of the same dimensions but weighing no more than 5 kg (11 lb).

Carry-on baggage

Here again, it depends on what class of travel you have paid for. For both, however, the maximum combined dimensions of 158 cm / 62 inches apply. In Economy your luggage can weigh maximum 30 kg / 66 lb, if you travel in Business Class, you have an extra 10 kg / 22 lb, so the total limit is 40 kg / 88 lb.

Children can have checked baggage up to a maximum of 115 cm and 10 kg regardless of class.

Different rules apply for flights to and from North America. The sum of the baggage dimensions is the same, the weight limit for Economy is 23 kg (50,7 lb) per piece + you can have a total of 2 pieces free of charge, and in Business Class the weight limit is 32 kg (70,5 lb) per piece and again, 2 pieces are allowed for free. Children are allowed one suitcase up to 23 kg.
