Transportation from Abu Dhabi Airport to Abu Dhabi and Dubai
Airport Abu Dhabi is approximately 37 km from the city center of Abu Dhabi. For traveling to the city center, you can use the following options:

Bus to Abu Dhabi
If you want to use public transportation, take bus A1 or A2, as no other organized transportation from the airport is available. This bus runs 24/7 with a frequency of half an hour, the journey to the center takes about 45 minutes and costs 4 AED.
Both lines depart from Terminal 2 and continue to T1 and T3, so you can board or alight at all terminals.

- Bus A1 is especially useful if you want to head to Abu Dhabi Mall. It runs through stops Al Maqta E22 / Bus Interchange, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, Hamdan Street in Al Danah, and Al Firdous Street to the City Terminal in Al Zahiya, near the well-known Abu Dhabi Mall.
- Bus A2 is suitable for traveling to the bus station, where you can transfer to other bus lines. It runs through stops Al Maqta E22 / Bus Interchange, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, Central Bus Station in Al Nahyan to the stop Khalifa Street in Al Danah.
The travel time is approximately 45 minutes, and a one-way ticket for 4 AED can be purchased from a machine. From the airport, lines A10, A20, and A40 also operate, but they are mostly used by locals. The only practical use is line A19, which will take you to the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum via Yas Island (Ferrari World Abu Dhabi).

Bus to Dubai
- If you are flying with Etihad Airways, you can reach Dubai and Al Ain for free with the Etihad Coach Service. The bus stop is located at Terminal 3, and the journey to Dubai takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. More information and the reservation form can be found here.
- If you are flying with another airline, the most convenient connection is the AUH Express bus, which operates 24/7. Tickets cost 35 AED (approximately 7.3£ (8.4 EUR)), and prior reservation is not necessary. Passengers with Wizz Air reportedly have this bus for free.
- Alternatively, public transport buses can take you to Dubai for about 2.1£ (2.4 EUR). More information, timetables, and a connection finder can be found here.
The travel time in all cases is approximately 90 minutes.
Car Rental
The fastest option is to rent a car. You can reach the city center in about 35 minutes. Check out the car offers in advance from the comfort of your home on Rentalcars.
Taxi
The most comfortable option is to use the Gettransfer service. You can choose a car according to your requirements, use extras like car seats, and if you forget something in the car, you can easily track down the driver. Prices on this route start at 12.1£ (14 EUR).
