Rome-Fiumicino International Airport "Leonardo da Vinci" (code: FCO) is located 34 km from the center of the Italian capital. It was opened in 1961. This airport has a total of 3 terminals and is ranked among the busiest European airports based on the number of passengers handled. Currently, due to reconstruction, only T1 and T3 are in use, with terminal T5 to be available later. Fiumicino Airport is a hub for the Italian airline Alitalia and the Spanish Vueling, and it also handles major airlines such as Air France, KLM, and Lufthansa.

Change at the airport

At Fiumicino Airport, there are three terminals, but currently, only two are operational: T1 and T3. You can transfer between them on foot within the same building, and you should reserve 1 hour for this. It might take less time, but the airport is very busy, and it's safer to reserve extra time.

The airports are approximately 30 km apart.
