By Bus
Cheaper but slower transportation between Fiumicino Airport and the center of Rome is provided by buses. The journey takes approximately an hour, depending on traffic. You have several carriers to choose from.

The ticket costs 7 EUR online (return 12 EUR). If you purchase it on-site, you'll pay 10 EUR one way. The ticket needs to be printed. Tickets are bought for a specific time, but if you miss the bus, you can take the next one. The bus goes to/from the main Termini station (map), the journey takes 55 minutes, and intervals are 35 - 60 minutes. The first bus from the airport departs at 7:45, the last at 21:05. The bus goes to/from the main Termini station (stop map), to Via Crescenzio near the Vatican (stop map), or to Via Aurelia (stop map) near Cornelia metro. Intervals are roughly hourly. The ticket costs 6.9 EUR online (return 9.9 EUR). The bus goes to/from the main Termini station (stop map). Intervals are 30 - 60 minutes. The first bus from the airport departs at 6:15, the last at 18:45. From Termini to the airport, the first bus departs at 7:45 and the last at 19:50. | Cotral |
This is the cheapest and slowest transportation to the center of Rome. The ticket costs 3.5 EUR and can be purchased upon arrival at the snack bar by the baggage claim (on the way back, at the newsstand). Specify that you want a ticket for the Cotral bus and the destination station (buses are not numbered). The stop is located between terminals 1 and 3 (not from the station where other connections to Rome depart) and intervals are roughly hourly. The bus takes you to the metro B stop Eur Magliana (prefer this, it's cheaper and faster) or the metro A stop Cornelia. |

By Train
Faster transportation is offered by train connections. The station is within walking distance from the airport, and you have two options. The fastest transportation is provided by the Leonardo Express. It reaches Termini station in about half an hour, and the ticket costs 14 EUR. If you have plenty of time, you can choose the Regionale connections for 8 EUR. They go to Tiburtina station through stops Fiera Di Roma, Ponte Galeria, Muratella, Magliana, Villa Bonelli, Roma Trastevere, Roma Ostiense, and Roma Tuscolana.
Online ticket purchase and timetable can be found on the Trenitalia website. Before boarding the train, remember to validate your ticket at the station, otherwise it is invalid.
Taxi
You can use the taxis standing in front of the airport, but it's cheaper to arrange transportation through Gettransfer. Thanks to competition among carriers, you get better offers, you can choose from a range of vehicles, and there's no problem with larger cars or child seats. At the airport, a driver will be waiting for you with a sign and will take you directly to your hotel for the agreed price. Prices start at 40 EUR (with full vehicle occupancy, that's about 10 EUR per person). Another alternative is Uber.
By Car
