About TAP Portugal

TAP Portugal is a Portuguese airline based at Lisbon-Portela Airport. TAP (Transportes Aéreos Portugueses) was founded on 14 March 1945. The first commercial flight did not take place until 19 September 1946 from Lisbon to Madrid. Throughout its existence, the airline alternated between different forms of public and private ownership. Since 2005, it has been a member of the Star Alliance and operates an average of 2,500 flights a week to 87 destinations in 34 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Fleet

The company has a fleet of 100 aircraft, most of which are from the Airbus company (these aircraft are the A330-900neo, A330-200, A321-200, A320-200, and A319-100). The exceptions are 22 aircraft manufactured by Embraer and ATR and operated on behalf of the regional airline TAP Express (Embraer 195, Embraer 190, and ATR 72-600). All aircraft are typically white with green and red TAP lettering.
