TAP Air Portugal is a Portuguese airline headquartered at Lisbon-Portela Airport. The company TAP (Transportes Aéreos Portugueses) was founded on March 14, 1945. The first commercial flight took place on September 19, 1946, from Lisbon to Madrid. Throughout its existence, this airline has alternated between various forms of public and private ownership. Since 2005, it has been a member of the Star Alliance and operates an average of 2,500 flights weekly to 87 destinations in 34 countries across Europe, Africa, and North and South America.
Fleet
The company has a fleet of 100 aircraft, most of which are from Airbus (including A330-900neo, A330-200, A321-200, A320-200, and A319-100 models). An exception is 22 aircraft manufactured by Embraer and ATR, which are operated on behalf of the regional airline TAP Express (including Embraer 195, Embraer 190, and ATR 72-600 models).
