Carry-on Baggage
If you are traveling in economy class, you can bring 1 carry-on bag on board for free with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm and a weight of 8 kg + 1 small bag/handbag/backpack with maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 15 cm and a weight of 2 kg. If you have purchased an Executive class ticket, you are entitled to 2 carry-on bags + 1 small bag/handbag/backpack with the above dimensions and weight. For more detailed information, click here.
Checked Baggage
The maximum number of checked bags you can transport for free depends on the airfare and destination. The size of one checked bag should not exceed 158 cm (calculated as height + length + width) for all routes.
- Under the Discount fare, checked baggage is not included. You can travel only with carry-on baggage, or you can pay extra for checked baggage (the price ranges from £23.4 (27.0 EUR) to £78.0 (90.0 EUR) depending on the specific destination).
- Economy Class Basic – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg. Applies to all destinations.
- Economy Class Classic – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg. On intercontinental routes, up to 2 pieces are allowed.
- Economy Class Plus – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg. On intercontinental routes, up to 3 pieces up to 23 kg are available. On domestic flights (Portugal and islands), up to 2 pieces of baggage.
- Business Executive – 2 pieces of baggage up to 32 kg. Applies to all destinations.
- Business Top Executive – 2 pieces of baggage up to 32 kg. On intercontinental routes, up to 3 pieces up to 32 kg are allowed.
If you find that you need to purchase an additional bag, it is best to do so online. At the airport, you might pay up to twice as much. Detailed information regarding checked baggage can be found here.
Sports Equipment
Sports equipment can be included in the free baggage allowance if it does not exceed the allowed weight and dimensions. An extra charge will only be applied if you bring more bags than allowed (within your fare) or exceed the maximum allowed weight. Charges are around £58.5 (67.5 EUR) on domestic flights and £117.0 (135.0 EUR) on international flights. The equipment must be properly registered before departure.
