Travelling with children under 2

The price of a ticket for a baby under 2 is usually 10 % of the adult ticket price. Babies do not need a separate seat and can sit on the lap of an accompanying adult. For this reason, each adult may accompany a maximum of one baby. Another option is to purchase a separate seat where the baby will sit in a car seat approved for use on the aircraft.

If you are travelling with a child under 2 years of age, you are entitled to priority boarding to allow more time to put your luggage away. You are also entitled to additional hand luggage up to 10 kg. When travelling with children under 5 years of age, you can take a folding stroller or car seat on board.

Travelling with children under 12

For children under 12, similar conditions apply as for adult passengers. No discounts on airfares or other services are given to them. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or assistance can be requested during the booking process. The child travelling alone will then be looked after by TAP Portugal staff and handed over to the care of an authorised person upon arrival. This service is available at an additional cost of £76 (106 $) on European flights and £113 (156 $) on international flights.
