Complaints and Compensation for Canceled or Delayed Flights with Wizz Air
If you were dissatisfied with Wizz Air's services and wish to file a complaint, you need to fill out a special complaint submission form. You will receive a unique ID that you must reference in any further correspondence regarding your complaint.
Wizz Air should respond to you within 30 days at the latest, but in most cases, it takes longer.
Delayed Flight with Wizz Air
If your flight is delayed by more than 2 hours at the departure airport, you are entitled to free refreshments. Usually, the airline will issue you a voucher for a certain amount (depending on the length of the delay), which you can use directly at the airport. You are also entitled to two free phone calls.
If your flight is delayed by more than 3 hours, you are also entitled to financial compensation. The amount varies according to the distance between the two airports. Compensation is only applicable if the airline is responsible for the delay.
If your flight is rescheduled to the next day due to a significant delay, you are entitled to free hotel accommodation and transportation to/from the airport.
Wizz Air and Canceled Flight
If a flight is canceled by Wizz Air, you can find out here whether you are entitled to compensation under European Parliament and Council Regulation No. 261/2004. This ranges from 250 to 600 EUR under the conditions that:
- The flight delay at the destination is more than 3 hours from the scheduled arrival time.
- The flight cancellation is announced by the airline less than 14 days before the scheduled departure date.
- The passenger was denied boarding.
- Luggage was lost, etc.
Besides the conditions themselves, it is also important to consider the reason for the delay/cancellation. You can submit a case for free assessment here.
Compensation for Canceled or Delayed Flight
You must apply for compensation online through your Wizz Air account. The money for the canceled flight will be refunded in full. Alternatively, you can choose a refund in the form of credits (amounting to 120% of the original amount).
